Kisah Haru Ayah yang Jualan Bakso Sambil Bawa Anaknya Usia 2 Tahun

While there is plenty of wealth in Los Angeles, there is also plenty of need. And, as you'll know if you live there, Los Angeles can be a difficult place to live without a car. If you have an old car that you'd like to donate to a local charity, there are plenty of options. Here are just a few ideas.
All of the charities listed in this article are IRS certified as nonprofit 501(c)(3), tax-deductible organizations. That means you can deduct any donation you make to them on your income taxes. Of course, the rules for tax deductions are complex, and each taxpayer's situation is unique, so I highly recommend that you also check with a certified tax preparer before you get too excited about garnering a huge tax deduction. The typical deduction for a donated car is around $500.
You should also know that 90% of donated cars are sold at auction, and the proceeds of the sale goes to the charity after the auctioneer has taken their cut. You can only deduct what the charity actually ends up getting, which can be less than a third of the actual Blue Book value of the car on the day you donated it.
All the charities in this article have also been reviewed by the website Charity Navigator. They have all received four star ratings, which means they have met the highest standards in terms of effectiveness and how frugally they manage their own overhead, like executives' salaries and fund-raising efforts. They are all first-rate charities that deserve every dime we can give them.
Lange Foundation
Lange helps animals that have become homeless. They have their own shelter, and also work with foster homes and other no-kill pet charities. While Lange does not have a car donation program set up, give them a call to see if they might be able to use your donated vehicle -- they are currently seeking a used horse trailer, and they certainly do a lot of driving animals around to different locations. This will get you a higher tax deduction, but the car you have to donate will have to be in good running condition.
Los Angeles Police Foundation
This large and much-needed charity has a standing program to accept cars.Their work is focused on supplementing equipment and training for LA's finest, though they also have community programs for at-risk youth. Their overall goal is to make Los Angeles a safer, more fun place to live, work and visit.
Shelter Partnership
The Shelter Partnership provides services to the homeless in and around the Los Angeles area. They have outsourced their car donation program to Cars 4 Causes, which is a national organization. Your car will probably be sold at auction through Cars 4 Causes, so you'll get a smaller tax deduction than you would if someone actually received a car directly through the Shelter Partnership, but you will still get a pretty good tax break, and you'll be helping an organization that is truly easing the suffering of people you drive by every day.
